City Girls

'City Girls' is an intimate portrayal of two young girls from an Indian small town now living in a metropolitan. The film attempts to deconstruct the image of ‘the city’ and what it means for a young woman brought up in an 'elsewhere' she's longed to escape from all her life. The filmmaker spends time with Umra and Kulsum, who have moved to India’s national capital, New Delhi, from Banda, a small town in Uttar Pradesh.
